My name is Niki. I’m a glass artist, the founder of the Alkotniki brand, and the one-woman team behind it all.

The glass used in my creations comes from a variety of sources: beer and wine bottles, damaged lampshades, glass from demolished windows and furniture, glass I find on my hikes, glass shards... and so on.

It fills me with joy when, at fairs or during personal encounters, we can dive into the history of a piece, or when you provide the raw material for a beautiful creation - a fragment of a glass that holds a memory, a wine bottle left over from a shared celebration, or a tiny piece of a display cabinet saved from Grandma’s house.

Artscaled is essentially an artistic reinterpretation of existing clothing. 

The first brand to bring this concept to life is Art&You (Art&You Handmade Designer Clothing). This brand, which offers hand-painted, one-of-a-kind garments, not only creates its own designs but also transforms existing clothing to reduce our environmental impact. My name is Zsófi, and I’m the founder of UNRAVEL BRAND.
I create unique corsets by reimagining old garments. Scarves, shirts, T-shirts, and embroidered tablecloths are given new forms - always as one-of-a-kind, irreplaceable pieces.

I’m inspired by the stories behind the clothes: the worn fabrics, the handcrafted details of embroidered tablecloths, and the potential that lies within every old piece. My corsets are crafted in the spirit of slow fashion, turning them into wearable stories in the name of upcycling and zero waste. I believe that the old can be modern, feminine, and special. By wearing one of my corsets, a story of past materials and generations continues.

I love the stories that clothes carry. The textures that someone once wore. The embroidered flowers into which a hand’s work has been woven. And the fact that every old piece holds a new possibility. 

I often start with old bedding, tablecloths, curtains, or forgotten garments - these become something completely new. It could be a reworked scarf, an old, forgotten T-shirt, an embroidered tablecloth, or even a designer men’s shirt… I’m inspired by the idea of them living on in a new form.

I don’t create fast fashion or mass-produced items; instead, I transform stories into wearable objects. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, and the materials - sourced from a different life - give each its character - this is the essence of upcycling and the no-waste philosophy.

I started this because it bothered me how many clothes we throw away, even though they’re full of potential. I wanted to show that even old pieces can be beautiful, feminine, and unique. When you choose a piece from me - a memory, a fabric, a fragment of another life - it finds a place in your wardrobe, and the story continues to unfold. That’s why every piece is one-of-a-kind. My name is Lili Somorjai, and I am the founder and designer behind Ricochet Designs. I created the brand with the intention of making handmade jewelry that is at once distinctive, bold, and full of meaning. To me, jewelry is more than just an accessory: it is self-expression, mood, and a small yet powerful reflection of who we are.

The word ricochet originally refers to a rebound, most commonly used to describe the movement of a bullet. This name feels deeply connected to the world my brand represents, as one of the most unique materials I work with is spent cartridge cases from shooting ranges, used during target practice. For me, Ricochet not only reflects a direct connection to ammunition, but also symbolizes the transformation at the heart of the brand: a raw object with an entirely different original purpose is given a new direction and reborn as something aesthetic, valuable, and unique.

This kind of rethinking and upcycling is especially important to me. I love the idea that a used material does not lose its value, but instead can become part of a new story. In this process, cartridge cases are not only unusual materials for me, but also symbols of strength, character, renewal, and individuality.

In my work, I use stainless steel because it is durable, long-lasting, and hypoallergenic, allowing me to create pieces that are not only beautiful but also comfortable and practical to wear over time. I also frequently work with Swarovski crystals and gemstones, which bring elegance, sparkle, and a unique atmosphere to each piece. Together, these materials create the distinctive balance that defines the world of Ricochet Designs: the meeting point of rawness and elegance, strength and femininity.

Every piece is handmade with great care and attention to detail. It is important to me that my jewelry not only looks beautiful, but also conveys personality. UPCY Ecodesign was founded over a decade ago in the spirit of upcycling, with the aim of adding value through the reuse of various materials. Today, I focus on preserving the illustrations in books that are in poor condition. As a collector of antique paper and books, I often come across old books in very poor condition: water-damaged, scribbled on, incomplete, etc., and the information they contain is also outdated. I have salvaged these special antique prints, typically 100–130 years old, to give them a new life as unique home decor.

I am inspired by nature, outdoor adventures, and the love of movement, and in connection with all
this, safe transportation, which I believe often depends on small attentions. The bihiga shows that
visibility/traffic safety is not boring, because it can be unique and varied, it can be the accessory you
like to wear, the sticker that looks good on your bike (scooter, stroller, wheelchair, motorcycle, car,
helmet, etc.), and it can even be useful.

My name is Nelli, and I’m a goldsmith-turned-carpenter. My artistic mission is to prove that even waste can be valuable, and that wood has no expiration date. What others see as useless waste is raw material to me. For my handmade pieces, I salvage wood destined for the trash, scraps from carpentry shops, and branches from garden pruning, preserving their natural grain and imperfections to create something beautiful and lasting. When you choose one of my pieces, you’re not just buying an object - you’re also acquiring a piece of nature, thereby supporting a more sustainable future.

My name is Kata Benkő; I live and work in Budapest. As a visual artist, creating has always been important to me; painting and graphic art remain closely connected to me to this day, but my desire to create objects has replaced my focus on the canvas. Wearable, usable, functional products began to take shape, and then the ideas started to come to life one by one. I initially built my business around wood as a raw material. The brand name, KAFAFA, was born. As time went on—just as a sculptor begins to carve a statue, shaping it, making changes along the way, and perfecting it—my imaginary sculpture also began to take shape and evolve. An attic also played a role in this, as it held the damaged, old vinyl records that gave KAFAFA a new direction. This serendipitous discovery shaped and further developed my brand and brought the products to life. From that point on, I incorporated vinyl records into my raw materials. It’s important to note that these records are damaged and unplayable; I use and seek out these very records to create my pieces. This is why I chose this “raw material”—to artistically facilitate the innovative recycling of environmentally harmful plastics into wearable, usable forms, imbued with artistic value. The music lives on within us, and by wearing the record, we promote environmental protection and a love of music. A new direction is also emerging: notebooks and who knows what else are being made from leftover wallpaper, since only imagination and creativity can set the limits!

Kinga Balogh, the designer behind the Cirrhopp brand, has been demonstrating since 2011 that sustainability and high aesthetics are not mutually exclusive. In her creations, single-use packaging waste is transformed into lasting value: feather-light jewelry, accessories, and kinetic mobile sculptures. The pieces created from PET plastic (mineral water and soft drink bottles) go far beyond the clichés of trash art. Thanks to the watercolor-like painting, the pieces are bathed in translucent, eye-catching colors, and their forms are inspired by nature: leaves, petals, and organic shapes are reflected in them. The designer’s palette has expanded further in connection with the Precious Plastic movement: today, HDPE and PP materials (plastic caps and bottles) are also given new life under her hands. The designer’s latest creative direction is the creation of kinetic mobiles. In this form, the feather-light nature of the plastic and the airiness of the watercolor-like painting combine with the delicate dance created by the movement of the air. The subtle movement of the mobiles and the play of colors become a modern and meditative decoration for the space, adding a new dimension to the aesthetics of recycled plastic. For Kinga, recycling is not just a creative method, but a mission. She believes in preserving values and the power of awareness, which is why she holds creative workshops across the country where anyone can learn the techniques of reimagining waste and experience the joy of creation through the lens of an ethical, sustainable workshop approach.
